When I saw the headline “Russia Attacks Georgia,” my first thought was: Does this make Red Dawn a documentary?
Yeah, wrong Georgia.

When I saw the headline “Russia Attacks Georgia,” my first thought was: Does this make Red Dawn a documentary?
Yeah, wrong Georgia.
And then there was that elementary school shooting in the real Georgia (the one next to my state, S.C.) today and I thought they were talking about the Russians.
There ought to be some language clue that the news media uses to distinguish between the two because my poor brain hurts trying to figure it out. They could say “Their Georgia” and “Our Georgia.” Or “The Georgia That Could Whup Russia” and “The Georgia That Russia’s Trying to Whup” or “The Georgia with Peaches” and “The Georgia with Snow.” There are lots of ways to distinguish.
Kind of like a kid at my daughter’s school asked the new Korean student (sixth grader) if he was from the Good Korea or the Bad Korea.
I was going to suggest “The Georgia Where They Talk Funny,” but that’s really not as defining as it could be.
